Flirting of the China Ancient Bra Lingerie – BellyBand or DuDou (情趣肚兜)


Ever wonder how a piece of frontal Cloth worn by women, thousands of centuries ago can cause sensation even till our present day?  


As far back during China’s Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), this piece of cloth complete with tie-backs at the neck and bare-back tied to the girth seam at the lower back called a DuDou (情趣肚兜) - BellyBand was the fashion among rich women. It was traditionally Diamond shaped, red in colour with ties at the back, exposing the smooth skin at the back and giving it the sexy appeal. This was an undergarment worn by all classes of women across China and then commonly used in the Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911).




   

In  fact, the rich Ladies-in-waiting and concubines wore the DuDou, equivalent to the present low-cut bra, with a long Chinese-style garment over it. All through summer, the sight of such Ladies-in-waiting in semi-transparent fine silk clothes, with the DuDou seen beneath and its straps across the beauty’s shoulder was a sight to behold. Therefore, the China ancient ladies are considered very fashionable of their time.

Today, DuDou has been known as Ancient China Bra, Halter Neck Bra, Belly Band, Stomacher, or sexy ancient Apron wear. Whatever it is known as, the sexiness of the DuDou cannot be undermined. It exudes the sensuality of the feminine side that causes a stir whenever it is worn. No man can resist not looking at the sexy Dudou woman crossing his path. It is akin to jasmine perfume that lingers in the air long after that.


With the DuDuo fast emerging as part of the new generation of Asian lingerie, Brides have started posing for Boudoir style photographs.  Brides often have a personal album of boudoir style DuDuo  photographs with the Grooms for the purpose of keeping their sexiness alive through picture of themselves .

The Dudou has since evolved into different shapes and variety of colours, expanding from being an inner-wear to a sexy outer-wear at celebrity and gala events, where famous actress Zhang Ziyi has been seen wearing it.  Even the west has seen a keen recent interest in the DuDou, after the much popularized Curse of the Golden Flower, and the recent Sex and Zen 2011 movies.




The DuDou has become a much sought after piece of sexy lingerie, giving the traditionally popular BabyDoll, Corsets, Teddy and Intimate Costumes a good run for its money.  Now it is no longer a “closet” lingerie but one that can even be worn any time night or day, making it the lingerie fashion statement of the 21st Century.
